So who am I and where did my journey begin?.
Well I'm just a normal guy living a normal life, I could be the husband of your best friend, your work colleague, your brother, the guy who you just shouted at in the shop....I could be any man. This is my first point, infertility rates in men are growing rapidly and more and more of us are out there, but to the naked eye we all look the same, normal.
I live in Central London and have a wonderful wife who I adore. We have been together for over 10 years and we have been trying for a baby for the last 5 years at least, before that the timing was just not right due to work and other family commitments. We have 2 cats which we adore and these are currently our children and act very much like it too, with one sleeping with us in our bed every night whist the other one stares at us jealously from the sofa.
I work in a rather stressful environment, but i do enjoy what I do and this helps with my stress day to day. It has been noted that highly stressed guys also have lower quality sperm, so I try to keep my stress levels as low as I can by enjoying time relaxing out of work.
But, who would have thought in my mid 30's I would have issues with infertility?. I have never been a sporty muscle bound testosterone fuelled guy, but I had a very high sex drive in my 20's and 30's and just thought this meant that I would not have an issue shooting out some high quality little swimmers - how wrong I was and how little did I know how much this would affect my life.
